Volunteering with local organisation Communicare in Southampton you will be helping people access opportunities to move more. As part of an exciting pilot project led by Southampton Voluntary Services as part of the SO:Linked programme.
A community navigator is supporting people to find and choose ways to be more physically active – this might be joining in with park yoga, going to a gentle gardening group, walking in their local park or to a cafe, attending a tea dance, or going a long to a lunch club where there are stretches. But we all know how difficult it can be to find the motivation or the confidence to give something new a try for the first time. That’s where activity buddies come in. By accompanying the person to a group or doing an activity with them you will be helping them experience all the benefits for health and wellbeing that come from moving more.
A short term support offer, this volunteering opportunity can be flexible and Communicare will be there to support you all the way.
