Learning through practical workshops helps young visitors engage with their learning, and increases their retention of the material. The Art Gallery, Tudor House & Garden, and SeaCity Museum welcome hundreds of school pupils and run numerous holiday workshops.
Volunteers help to make these sessions a memorable success for the visitors as well as the Learning Staff.
We are looking for volunteers to help support the Learning Officers or Freelancers in the setting up, delivery, and clean-up of school or holiday workshops delivered across the venues. The role may also include resource gathering and production.
You would need to be:
• A good communicator, especially with children and guardians of various ages and backgrounds
• Enthusiastic and reliable
• Interested in working with children
• Interested in arts and/or history an ability to share it.
No experience is necessary, though it is useful if you have had:
• Experience working with the public
• Experience working with children
Hours are varied and are based on a bookings diary, though volunteers are free to put their names down for any that suit.
If you are interested, email the Volunteer Coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org with your expression of interest. You will then be asked to fill out a Registration Form and attend an informal interview to discuss the role.
If you have any questions prior to applying, please feel free to contact the Volunteer Coordinator.
