We are looking for individuals who are practicing Christians with good people skills, such as putting people at ease and making them feel welcome at our Drop-in and other Acorn Chaplaincy meetings.
Main duties: to work together with the team, to welcome guests on arrival, making them feel comfortable, to gently initiate timely conversation and to listen attentively to their stories, and to provide pastoral and spiritual support when appropriate.
It would be desirable, but not necessary, if you had previous training in attentive listening and/ or supporting individuals with addiction. You need to be punctual and committed to this ministry.
If you want to find out more, you are welcome to contact us and to ‘come and see’.
