No Wrong Door (NWD) is what we are calling the adult community mental health transformation programme across Hampshire, Southampton, Isle of Wight, and Portsmouth.
Community means the geographical space in which people live and can include ethnicity, gender, occupation, or interests which can be important sources of support.
The NWD model recognises that mental health is also affected by quality of housing, employment, family and personal contacts, leisure and cultural activities, technological solutions, and other community resources such as green spaces. Mental health services will work together with the community to ensure that care can be provided locally, and that support can be received in several settings for multiple aspects of a person’s life.
We are also working to dissolve barriers between primary and secondary care, mental health and physical health, and health and social care, to deliver integrated, personalised, place based and well-coordinated care.
