There is a meeting for new arrivals from Ukraine, their hosts and those wanting to host refugees. It will be at the Cricketers’ Arms, 50 Portsmouth Rd, Woolston, SO19 9AF every Saturday from 12.00 – 2.00 p.m.
The Southampton Ukraine Community Support are a group of people that want to support the families arriving in Southampton from Ukraine. Our group so far consists of a variety of nationalities, Ukrainian, Romanian, Polish, Russian/Ukrainian, Czech, English and in addition to this a couple of multi-lingual people that are based in Poland and Ukraine that can help with translations and paperwork etc.
We understand that befriending and offering one-to-one support to asylum seekers and refugees arriving from horrific experiences in Ukraine can be a daunting experience, so giving a welcoming and friendly offering will make the transition to the UK a bit easier. We hope to build a community of support across the city to help the families who arrive in Southampton after such a traumatic experience. Every Saturday, we are setting up activities for the children and teens, serving hot food and drinks and having areas where you will find translators and information about services in Southampton.
Volunteers will be eventually needed to help run some of the meetings, if you are interested then please let us know and we can add you to the list.
We would like to build a contact list ready of people who have contacts or via work who could help us with this.

Please message or email if you can help in some small way
