Do you have great ideas and want to contribute to a community cause?
Southampton Scrapstore is looking for new trustees to serve on the management committee and take this wonderful, local, 35 year old charity forward, hopefully for another 35 years.
Trustees ensure their charity has a clear strategy, and that its work and goals are in line with its vision. A trustee’s role in a charity is to be the ‘guardians of purpose’, making sure that all decisions put the needs of the beneficiaries first.
They safeguard the charity’s assets – both physical assets, including property, and intangible ones, such as its reputation. They make sure these are used well and that the charity is run sustainably.
There are a variety of roles we need help with, from fund raising to admin, strategy planning to up keep of our website.
These roles can be completed remotely, with management meetings taking place on zoom. Meaning your contribution can be made from the comfort and safety of your home. However, some trustee also take on a more hands on role, should you wish to be involved at the scrapstore.
With commitments being made on a yearly basis at our annual AGM, this is a great voluntary role to add to your CV
