Quilt of Hope: Stitching Our Hopes into the Fabric of Time – a Community Textile Project
WEA is an educational organisation that focuses on Adult Learning within Reach.
If you would like to be part of a group that meets weekly to learn and share creative skills, build new friendships and connect with your community, join our Quilt of Hope project.
Together we will create a beautiful textile wall hanging combining traditional stitching with exciting no-sew techniques to express our individual and shared hopes for the future, connecting with each other as we talk, weave, thread and draw the separate pieces of the quilt together.
Friday 26th Nov 2021 to 11th Feb 2022 and Wednesday 1st Dec 2021 -16th Feb 2022
Come along to this fun and friendly introduction to handcrafting with textiles. You will have a chance to be creative, begin connecting with different people in the community and find out more about the Quilt of Hope project.
Quilt of Hope is suitable for anyone from any background, culture and language, and welcomes complete beginners as well as those who bring a skill or enthusiasm for sewing, stitching, painting, drawing, knitting and crochet. We will begin meeting weekly in November, to learn and share creative skills. Together, we will create a beautiful, textile wall hanging to express our
individual and shared hopes for the future, connecting with each other as we talk,
weave, thread and draw the separate pieces of the quilt together.
