SO:LOTTO – Southampton’s own Community Lottery

Earlier this year Southampton Voluntary Services launched SO:Lotto a weekly lottery for good causes and charities operating in the city to sign up to and share with their supporters as a fun way to raise some funds.

There are currently 38 live good causes on the SO:Lotto system and a further 7 going through the signing up process.

Big congratulations to the 41 SO:Lotto winners and  5 lucky prize draw winners over the last 7 weekly draws who have won.  3 lucky winners have won £25 each so far, how long till we have a £250, 2,000 or £25,000 winner?  Tickets are a £1 a week and matching ball numbered between 0-9 determines the winners so we could have a city full of winners 😊

Gloria, on winning the Saints shirt in the first bolt on prize draw said “Unity101(Cultural Media Enterprise) is serving the local community in and around Southampton for many years. I am volunteering at this community radio station since 2010. I value the radio station’s community work and therefore want to support it in whichever form I can. Winning a prize on SO:Lotto is a nice experience, which gives an added satisfaction of supporting a good cause.”

Winners to date, have come from 14 different good causes across the city, as well as from those supporting the SO:Community Fund including:-

Aurora New Dawn, Citizens Advice Southampton, City Catering Southampton, CLEAR, Communicare in Southampton, Cultural Media Enterprise, Persian Cultural Centre, Re:Minds Group CIC, Saints Disabled Supporters’ Association, Southampton Voluntary Services, The Rose Road Association, Tim Kiver Foundation, Touch Network CIC and Yellow Door

At 1st November £964.20 had been raised and processed for good causes.  With more causes & supporters coming onboard this will increase across the year raising more funds for Southampton Communities.

Tara Doel, Special Projects Development Worker, SVS said “it has been lovely to see a good number of people winning on SO:Lotto over the last 7 draws, particularly that they are coming from various good causes across our community who are benefitting from their support”.
